After being in the automotive dealer business for 20+ years (and building race cars on the side),  Jim Kuntz decided to live out his life long passion of “going fast” by starting Jim Kuntz Racing in 1983.  As the business began to grow – he changed the name to Kuntz & Co as it is today.

Jim has won countless championships in NHRA, NMCA, NMRA, NFCA, and Late Model Dirt Championships.  He gave up competition racing in 1996, and dedicated his time fully on supporting his customers and friends.

In January 2019, Kuntz & Co. was acquired by Gwatney Performance, but continues to operate as a stand alone business doing what we do best – building some of the baddest engines around.
